To begin, could you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hello, my name is Nora. I live in the municipality of Teich and manage the towns located in the south of the Bassin d'Arcachon in Gironde such as: Arcachon, La Teste-de-Buch and Gujan-Mestras.
Before embarking on this new and beautiful adventure, I was a Commercial Agent in one of the most famous airlines (Air France). My role was to welcome, register and ensure the smooth running of customer boarding, but also to promote the company's products and thus build customer loyalty. The sense of contacts and relationships is a major asset in this job.
What motivated you to undertake the management of seasonal rentals?
With 20 years spent in a prestigious airline, I was able to acquire extensive experience in customer service and broad relational skills.
I embarked on this new adventure because I was looking for an activity that links, autonomy, organization, dynamism, challenge and contacts. Possessing all these assets, I wish, today, to be able to put these qualities to good use within the Yourhosthelper concierge service.
Why did you choose the Arcachon sector to set up your business?
Living in the region for more than 20 years, my choice was established quite naturally. Having a very good knowledge of the place, it was therefore obvious. It must also be said that the Arcachon basin is one of the most popular places in the Gironde department, particularly in high season, but there is also strong demand for rentals throughout the year. Seasonal rental is a buoyant market, in full growth with strong potential.
What places would you recommend to a traveler wishing to explore this city?
I obviously advise travelers to visit the largest Dune in Europe, which is called “Dune du Pilat”. You have to climb about 140 steps to reach the top and be able to enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the entire basin. In the evening on the dune you can contemplate a magnificent sunset and spend a most romantic evening. Arcachon also has a fishing port and marina, starting point for the crossing to the magnificent tip of Cap Ferret and thus admire the famous bird island, and the famous cabins tchanquées (wooden cabins perched on stilts) , unavoidable places in the Arcachon basin. For nature lovers you can walk along the coast and thus observe wild birds from the ornithological reserve (120 hectare park) located in the town of Teich and finally you can taste our essential local oysters either on board a “pinasse” (small flat-bottomed boat used for fishing) or directly at the port in the towns of La Teste-de-Buch or Gujan-Mestras.
What benefits do you find in working in rental management?
Seasonal rentals in the region have great potential and increased demand. This requires a lot of organization, dynamism and rigour.
What are the essential qualities in your profession?
You have to be available, rigorous, dynamic and empathetic. The quality of service and a good relationship are essential assets for good customer satisfaction in order to obtain positive and encouraging results.

Can you describe for us the daily life in your job?
Our job is to organize schedules, manage stocks on a daily basis; ensure that nothing is missing and that everything is available to travellers. Establish the inventory and carry out check-in and check-out, cleaning, visit of rental properties and posting of rentals.
