Pay Less Up Front: the new payment system in several installments on Airbnb

The short-term rental platform Airbnb is launching a new online payment option to best satisfy its customers. Thanks to the Pay Less Up Front system, they will now be able to pay the cost of the rental in two parts: half when booking, and the rest a few days before their arrival on the premises.

Pay Less Up Front

Tuesday, January 16, Airbnb announces the launch of a new service that allows its subscribers to pay for their reservation in installments. This new option called "Pay Less Up Front" allows customers of the rental platform to pay half of the amount due at the time of booking, then the rest a few days before their arrival in the accommodation.

Airbnb points out, however, that this possibility of paying in two installments is subject to certain conditions. It will only be authorized for any stay exceeding $ 250, with a reservation made at least 14 days in advance.

Tested and approved

The short-term rental platform has already tested this new service with its customers since April 2017. Almost 40% of users meeting the above criteria have taken advantage of this new payment solution. Many customers have also made the decision to book their stay up to twice as much in advance, in order to take advantage of this new offer.

For tenants, this new payment service in several installments offers them greater visibility on the platform. This solution is therefore added to another payment facility on Airbnb. Indeed, since November 2017, the rental platform already allows customers who go on a trip together to divide the bill between them.

Thanks to these innovative solutions, Airbnb will certainly experience a great increase in notoriety among its customers.
