The great comeback of La Défense
La Défense is making its return to the Mipim Awards this year, after four long years of absence. The international real estate fair, which will be held in Cannes from March 13 to 16, will reward the best real estate projects completed, in progress or to come. The list of nominees has already been unveiled by the organizer of this major international real estate meeting, divided into 11 categories.

- Best renovated building

- Better urban renewal
- Best future project (less than 150 m²)

La Défense's last nomination for the Mipim Awards was in 2011, with the First tower winning the title of “Best Renovated Office Building”. In 2014, Unibail-Rodamco presented the Majunga Tower in the category of “the most innovative ecological projects” suffering a failure.
CitizenM hotel
This year, the “Best hotel and tourist complex” category welcomes the largest European business district, which is making a strong comeback with the CitizenM hotel. This prestigious hotel establishment, inaugurated in June 2017, is located opposite the U Arena, along the new promenade de l'Arche in Nanterre. Three other luxury hotels compete alongside it in the same capacity: the Catholic-Social Institute of Michaelsberg Abbey (Sieburg, Germany), the Six Senses Zil Pasyon (Félicité Island, Seychelles) and the OFF Paris Seine (Paris).
The CitizenM, composed of 125 rooms, is represented at the Mipim Awards 2018 by Unibail-Rodamco its promoter, CitizenM its owner and operator, MAAC its architect, as well as various stakeholders such as Concrete (interior design), Joseph Ingénierie (facade consultant), HPM ( project management), and AVAF (Assum Vivid Astro Focus, Art Piece).
Experts and participants in the jury
This year, the jury made up of international real estate experts, chaired by Méka Brunel, Managing Director of Gecina, will not be the only one to select the winners of the Mipim Awards. This year, exhibition participants will also be able to vote for the projects they like. The choice of the latter will weigh 50% in the selection of the winners, tied with the vote of the jury.
